Our Commission

Missions for Honduras is based on the following verses from the Bible. These passages are our guidelines for performing our responsibilities as ambassadors for Christ.

Mat 28:18-20 MKJV  And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority is given to Me in Heaven and in earth.  (19)  Therefore go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  (20)  teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the world. Amen.

Mat 25:34-40 MKJV  Then the King shall say to those on His right hand, Come, blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.  (35)  For I was hungry, and you gave me food; I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you took Me in;  (36)  I was naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.  (37)  Then the righteous shall answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry, and fed You? Or thirsty, and gave You drink?  (38)  When did we see You a stranger, and took You in? Or naked, and clothed You?  (39)  Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and came to You?  (40)  And the King shall answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brothers, you have done it to Me.

The first passages are known as The Great Commission. In a nutshell, it means we must get out of our recliners and comfort zones to teach people about Christ. Not everyone can pick up and leave on a mission trip. But, everyone can be part of the support team to send others to the different parts of the world. Just as everyone cannot travel, our members cannot go to all parts of the world and be effective. Honduras was chosen as this team's niche in the world of missions. To date, this commitment to one country has been rewarded with many saved souls, friendships, and an immense love for the people in Honduras. The needs of the people are still beyond words, but by the grace of God, efforts will continue forward to lead more residents of Honduras to Christ.

The second set of passages give Scriptural basis for the outreach brigades our teams take to the people in Honduras. These brigades provide spiritual support, food, clothes, and medical care to hundreds of people in outlying areas of San Pedro Sula each year. And yes, even prisons are visited. Efforts are made each trip to visit and minister to the inmates of both youth and adult prisons. The year 2015 will see water wells being drilled for some of the communities. In 2014, a modern clinic was donated and is now staffed to serve the San Pedro areas even if the patients have no money. As a result of these many outreach brigades, people who once were strangers to one another have forged friendships which will last into eternity.

Good deeds and kind words alone will not get the first person through the gates of Heaven. Only the acceptance of Christ as Lord and Saviour  accomplishes that task. But, we are called to action. Together, we can live up to our responsibilities to go teach and minister in an area very much in need of God and His mercies. It is our hope, that as you visit the different sections of this site, you will get to experience a portion of what the team members see and feel during their trips. These Missions For Honduras are truly life changing experiences for everyone involved.
